Sackville Waterfowl Park

Boardwalk wetland reserve beside Sackville, good for easy walks and birding.

Sackville Waterfowl Park is a 22-hectare wetland with boardwalks, short trails, and viewing spots close enough to town that you can walk there from the centre. It is especially good in spring and autumn, when migrating birds use the Tantramar marshes as a stopover.

The appeal is quiet rather than spectacular: reeds, ponds, muskrats, ducks, and the wide skies that define this corner of New Brunswick. It is the easiest way to get a feel for the marshland without committing to a long hike.
