Flagstaff Hill is the quick local walk in Cartwright, rising above the village with old cannons that once guarded the harbour. The view over Sandwich Bay gives the best sense of where the settlement sits: small, exposed, and wrapped by water and Labrador emptiness.
It is modest as a monument, but useful as a first stop before heading farther out.
