The Silent Witnesses Memorial remembers the Arrow Air crash of 12 December 1985, when 256 people died shortly after takeoff from Gander. The sculpture shows an American soldier with two children, facing toward Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
It is a sombre stop, set apart from town near the crash site. Visit it with time and quiet, not as a roadside photo.
