Peggy's Point Lighthouse

Red-topped Atlantic lighthouse standing on bare granite at the edge of Peggy's Cove.

Peggy's Point Lighthouse is the reason most visitors come. The white octagonal tower with its red lantern stands on an open sweep of glacial granite, with the Atlantic breaking below and the village tucked just behind.

It is beautiful in clear weather and better in rough weather, as long as you keep a sensible distance from the water. The wet black rocks are not a dramatic warning sign; they are the danger zone.
