Belfountain Conservation Area is a compact, pretty piece of Credit River country. Trails run through woods and along the water, with rapids, a small cave, and the Bell Fountain left from the site's early 20th-century estate days.
It is easier-going than some escarpment hikes, though a few paths can still be rough underfoot. Pair it with the village of Belfountain for the most pleasant version of Caledon: river, old buildings, and a little countryside polish.
