Rondeau Provincial Park

Lake Erie provincial park with sandy beaches, marsh, old Carolinian forest, and spring birding.

Rondeau Provincial Park is Chatham-Kent's best outdoors anchor. The park protects a long Lake Erie sandspit with beach, marsh, and old-growth Carolinian forest, a southern Ontario habitat that feels far richer than the surrounding farmland suggests.

Birders come in spring for migration, when the park's Festival of Flight draws watchers from both sides of the border. Outside that season, it is still a good place for walking, cycling, swimming, and a break from the flat inland roads.
