A long recreational trail following the old branch line of the New York Central Railroad that once passed through Embrun. When the railway company folded, the municipality bought the rail bed and converted it into a bike path — a common and sensible fate for disused lines.
Walking or cycling the trail is a pleasant, flat experience. The surrounding countryside is quiet and pretty, though bugs are plentiful, especially in summer. Bring insect repellent.
