A local history museum in Iroquois Falls documenting the town's origins as a planned company settlement built around the Abitibi pulp and paper mill. Exhibits cover industrial history, First Nations heritage, and the day-to-day life of a northern Ontario mill town. Small and volunteer-run; call ahead to confirm hours outside summer.
Iroquois Falls Museum
A story
The museum is housed in the town's original fire hall, which Abitibi Power and Paper built around 1916 as part of its planned community. The collection documents both the mill's industrial history — the machinery, the labour relations, the Depression-era hardship — and the social life of a town that existed, essentially, because one company decided it should. A particular highlight is the archive of photographs showing the mill in full operation, before the machinery went quiet.
