Streetsville is the city's old village, tucked along the Credit River in the north-west and still calling itself "the village in the city." Founded in 1819, it predates Mississauga itself, and the original main street — Queen Street — runs for a half a kilometre lined with low-rise brick storefronts, a couple of churches, and the old town hall.
It is the most walkable district outside Port Credit, with a string of independent restaurants and an annual Bread and Honey Festival in early June that has been running since 1973. The Streetsville GO Station is a 15-minute walk from the heart of the village.
