Laurier Woods Conservation Area

Boreal wetland nature reserve with boardwalks in the south end of the city

A 100-hectare conservation area on the southern edge of North Bay, where wetland, beaver pond, and pine forest sit within ten minutes of downtown. A network of boardwalks, observation platforms, and footpaths makes for an easy hour's walk.

Wood ducks, herons, beavers, and (in winter) snowy owls are commonly seen. The interpretive signage is decent and the parking is free.
