Awenda Provincial Park protects one of the best natural stretches near Penetanguishene. Trails run through forest and down toward Methodist Point Bay, where the shoreline shifts between sand, cobble, and boulder beaches.
It is the right counterweight to the town's naval and church history. Bring walking shoes and enough time to make it more than a quick beach stop.
