Cavendish Beach

Cavendish Beach is the village's stretch of Prince Edward Island National Park: pale sand, red sandstone edges, dune grass, and Gulf of St. Lawrence water that is surprisingly swimmable in high summer. It is busy, but it is also one of the island's classic beach scenes.

The best visit is simple. Swim if conditions allow, walk the shoreline toward the cliffs, and stay for the softer evening light when the red sand and sandstone look their best.
