This is the museum that explains why Summerside is not just another pleasant PEI harbour town. In the early 20th century, Prince Edward Island became a world centre for silver fox farming, and Summerside sat close to the heart of that strange, profitable trade.
The museum occupies the restored 1911 armoury and mixes fox-farming exhibits with broader Summerside stories. It is compact, but it gives useful context before you walk the older streets around Summer and Spring.
