Valeport Marsh is a large wetland at the southeast end of Last Mountain Lake, with a dyke-top trail used by walkers and birders. It is the best nature stop in the Lumsden loop, especially during migration when shorebirds and waterfowl move through the valley.
Bring binoculars if you have them. The pleasure here is in slowing down and scanning the water, reeds, and sky.
