Castillo de Jagua

18th-century fortress guarding the narrow entrance to Cienfuegos Bay.

Castillo de Jagua predates the city itself, built to defend the bay from pirates and privateers. It is most worthwhile if you combine it with a harbour outing or the south-side sights around Rancho Luna and Laguna Guanaroca.
