Cafetal Buenavista

Ruined 19th-century coffee plantation in the hills west of Las Terrazas, now a garden-like historic site.

Cafetal Buenavista is the most interesting historic stop near Las Terrazas. The ruined coffee plantation sits in the hills west of the village, where stone walls and old industrial remains recall the plantation economy that once shaped this part of western Cuba.

The site is now gentler than its history: greenery, paths, and views rather than a heavy museum treatment. It pairs well with a walk through the community and a swim lower in the valley.
