Battery Point Trail is one of the easiest short hikes from Haines, running through forest to a quiet shoreline south of town. It gives you a clean version of the local landscape: spruce, moss, beach, mountains, and Lynn Canal water without needing a full backcountry day.
The trail also connects toward Mount Riley for a longer outing. For most visitors, the beach and return walk are enough.
