Katirvik Cultural Center focuses on the Indigenous cultures of the Bering Strait region, including Inupiaq, Central Yup'ik, and St. Lawrence Island traditions. It is in the Richard Foster Building, the same civic complex as the city museum.
The centre is small, but it gives a necessary counterweight to Nome's gold-rush story. Check hours before going, as they can be limited.
