A roadside theme park assembled from decades of Alaskan junk, Mukluk Land is the kind of place that does not really make sense until you are standing in it. The owners have spent years dragging in old mining equipment, snowmobiles, dolls, sleds, and assorted curiosities, then arranging them across a fenced lot east of town.
You pay a small admission, walk the gravel paths, and try to take it all in. There is a miniature golf course, a Santa Claus that looks slightly menacing, and the largest mukluk boot you will ever see. It is only open in summer and the hours are loose. Stop in if you are driving through — it is exactly the sort of Alaskan oddity travellers come here to find.
