Jerome State Historic Park is the best first stop in town. The Douglas Mansion, built in 1916 above the Little Daisy Mine, now holds exhibits on mining, geology, the Douglas family, and Jerome's rough boom years.
The museum also has one of the best views in town. Its model of Jerome's underground mines helps explain why so much money, danger, and instability were packed into this steep hillside.
