The Bullion Plaza Cultural Center and Museum occupies the old Bullion Plaza School building at 1000 Plaza Avenue — a handsome 1923 structure that was built to educate the children of Miami's copper miners. Today it houses exhibits on the town's mining heritage, the lives of the immigrant workers who came here from Mexico, Greece, and southern Europe, and the Salado people who inhabited this part of the Gila Valley long before the mines opened.
The collection is modest but well-curated. Mining equipment, period photographs, and personal effects from the early 20th century give a grounded sense of what life in a company mining town actually looked like. Local Salado pottery and artefacts from nearby prehistoric sites round out the story. The building itself is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
