The QIA Pow Wow Gem & Mineral Show is one of Quartzsite's big winter draws, bringing hundreds of dealers and a very large crowd to town. Tables are piled with minerals, fossils, lapidary work, beads, and desert finds, ranging from cheap curios to serious collector pieces.
It is seasonal rather than a year-round sight, so check the dates before building a stop around it. If you are in Quartzsite while it is running, it is one of the clearest ways to understand why this small desert town becomes so busy in winter.
