Tubac's galleries are not one sight so much as the town's current personality. Around Plaza Road and Tubac Road, old adobe lanes hold studios, jewellery shops, folk art, pottery, paintings, and Southwest decorative work in a compact, easy-to-walk centre.
Some of it is tourist-facing, but the concentration is real and gives Tubac more life than many preserved desert towns. It is best after the presidio, when the art-colony layer makes sense as the latest chapter rather than the whole story.
