The sandstone window north of town is the landmark that gives Window Rock its English name. The small tribal park below it includes memorials to Navajo veterans, including the Code Talkers whose language and service became part of Second World War history.
It is a short stop, but an important one. Treat it as a memorial landscape, not just a photo pullout, and give yourself time to read the plaques before moving on.
