A steel observation tower on the summit of Hot Springs Mountain, reached by a short drive or a steep walk up from Bathhouse Row. The current tower dates from 1983 — the third structure on the site since the 1870s — and rises 216 feet above an already prominent ridge. On a clear day the view stretches out over the entire Ouachita range, with the city laid out neatly below.
There's a small charge to take the elevator up. Two observation decks (one enclosed, one open) make this an obvious stop for anyone wanting to understand the geography of the place — you can see how the springs sit in a tight valley pinched between Hot Springs Mountain and West Mountain.
