Thermal Spring Cascades

Two open-air thermal waterfalls along the promenade above Bathhouse Row

Two small but visually striking waterfalls of mineral-laden hot spring water, hidden in plain sight on the Grand Promenade behind Bathhouse Row. The water emerges from rock outcrops, gives off a faint sulphurous steam in cool weather, and runs down a tufa-streaked ledge into a collecting pool below.

This is one of the few places where you can see (and touch) the unaltered spring water before it's diverted into the bathhouses. The walk is short, paved, and free, and you can extend it onto the Hot Springs Mountain trails for a longer outing.
