Greenwich Audubon Center is the town's backcountry counterweight to the shoreline and shopping streets. Audubon stewards several sanctuaries in Greenwich, with the main centre offering trails through hardwood forest, meadow, wetland, lake edge, and old field habitat.
It is most rewarding if you actually slow down for birds and seasonal change. For a quick scenic walk, Greenwich Point is simpler; for a quieter nature stop, Audubon is the better choice.
