Mansfield Hollow State Park protects woods, trails, and water southeast of Storrs. It is the easiest way to add fresh air to a UConn-focused visit, with walking routes around the reservoir area and connections into the wider local trail network.
The park is not a wilderness showpiece, but it is useful and pleasant. After a morning of museums or campus touring, it gives the day some balance and shows why Storrs still feels rural despite the size of the university.
