Lake Apopka is one of Florida's largest lakes, stretching west of Orlando near Clermont and Oakland. After decades of pollution, restoration work has made the lake and its wetlands much better for birds and wildlife.
The best way to experience it is from the public access points, trails, and wildlife-viewing areas around the shore rather than from the water itself.
