Hollywood Boulevard is the main street of downtown Hollywood, running east from the Tri-Rail station toward the beach. The historic business district preserves a stretch of 1920s commercial architecture — two-storey Mediterranean Revival storefronts, arched doorways, and a general atmosphere of planned civic grandeur from the original boom-era development. It has been revitalized in recent years with independent restaurants, galleries, and bars occupying the old storefronts.
The Boulevard is the place to eat if you want to step away from the Broadwalk tourist scene. Several good restaurants and a few bars have set up here, and the street becomes lively in the evenings. The ArtsPark at Young Circle, a public park and amphitheater at the east end of the Boulevard, hosts outdoor concerts and events.
