Homestead-Miami Speedway

A 1.5-mile oval superspeedway that hosts NASCAR Cup Series races (until recently the season championship finale) and IndyCar weekends. Built in the early 1990s as part of the post-Hurricane Andrew economic recovery push, the track has become one of the more spectator-friendly venues on the calendar: tight banking, good sightlines, Florida winter weather.

Unless you are here for a race day, there is not much to see — the public tour programme has come and gone over the years. Check the schedule before planning a trip around it.
