Things to Do in Space Coast Area

The Space Coast's signature attraction is Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, where you can walk beneath a Saturn V rocket, see actual spacecraft up close, and — if timing works out — watch a live launch from viewing areas on site or along the causeways. Launches happen regularly; check the Kennedy Space Center schedule before your trip and plan around one if you can.

Out on the water, airboat rides on the St. Johns River and the Indian River Lagoon are a genuinely good way to see the area's wildlife — herons, ospreys, alligators, and manatees are all common. Several operators run trips out of Titusville and Cocoa.

Canaveral National Seashore is 24 miles of undeveloped Atlantic beach — one of the longest stretches of undisturbed coastline on Florida's east coast. Playalinda Beach at the south end sits directly adjacent to the launch pads, which makes for an unusual view.
