The trail threads through downtown Clearwater between Cleveland Street and the bluffs above Clearwater Harbor. This is the busiest section, with the trail occasionally interrupted by street crossings but offset by good food stops, the Capitol Theatre, and a flat detour west to the Memorial Causeway for views of the marina.
Clearwater is also the most convenient pickup point if you are arriving by rental car from Tampa or the airport — there is street parking near the Coachman Park trailhead and several rental shops within a block of the path. From here it is roughly 10 miles north to Tarpon Springs and 25 miles south to St. Petersburg.
