The Cape San Blas Lighthouse now stands in George Core Park, beside the bay rather than on the exposed cape where erosion kept threatening it. The tower, keepers' quarters, and oil shed were moved here in 2014, turning a rescue job into Port St. Joe's most visible landmark.
If the tower is open, the climb is short but steep, with the reward coming at the top: St. Joseph Bay, the town grid, and the long line of Cape San Blas stretching away across the water.
