Tubbs Hill

Forested natural area beside downtown with lake views and a 2.2-mile shoreline trail.

Tubbs Hill is the reason Coeur d'Alene feels more outdoorsy than polished. The 165-acre natural area rises directly beside downtown and is almost surrounded by the lake, with pine forest, rocky coves, small beaches, and open views across the water.

The classic walk is the 2.2-mile interpretive trail around the hill. It is short enough for a casual afternoon but varied enough to feel like a real break from town, especially early in the morning or near sunset.
