City Park is the green heart of downtown Streator — a square block of mature oaks and maples a short walk from Main Street, with a bandshell, a Civil War memorial, and shaded benches. On any normal weekend it is the unforced kind of small-town park where kids ride bikes and grandparents read paperbacks.
In September the park is taken over by Arts on the Prairie, a juried art fair with around a hundred booths and live music — the best single day to visit Streator. Through the rest of the warm months the bandshell hosts free summer concerts.
