WonderLab Museum of Science

WonderLab is a hands-on science museum on Sixth Street, a short walk from the courthouse square. It is aimed primarily at children but is intelligent and unpretentious enough that adults who come with them will not be bored. The exhibits cover physics, biology, geology, and technology through interactive demonstrations: bubble-making machines, a wind tunnel, a light show, working robotics, and a basement full of computer experiments.

The building itself is an interesting piece of Bloomington's urban history — it occupies a former commercial block in what was once a fringe neighbourhood and is now part of the walkable near-downtown area. WonderLab is small enough to do thoroughly in a couple of hours, and the admission price is modest. Good for a rainy afternoon or for anyone visiting with children.
