The Battle of Corydon site marks one of the few Civil War battles fought north of the Ohio River. Confederate cavalry under John Hunt Morgan pushed through this part of Indiana in 1863, leaving Corydon with a sharper wartime story than most Midwestern county towns.
The site is low-key, so it works best if you already care about Civil War routes or are connecting it with the capitol and the old town square.
