The Old Lighthouse Museum sits near the mouth of Trail Creek, close enough to the water that its purpose is obvious. Exhibits cover lighthouse keepers, shipping, and Michigan City's role on Lake Michigan.
The building is small, so do not plan a half day around it. Paired with the pier and Washington Park, it helps the waterfront feel like a real port rather than just a beach.
