The Eugene V. Debs House preserves the home of Terre Haute's best-known public figure: labor organizer, Socialist Party leader, and five-time presidential candidate Eugene V. Debs. The rooms hold Debs material across three floors, including a mural-covered ceiling by John Laska.
This is the city's most serious travel anchor. It gives Terre Haute a direct line into American labor history, the Pullman Strike, socialism, free speech, and the politics of the early 20th century. Check hours before going, as the museum schedule is limited.
