The Swope Art Museum is a small downtown museum with a stronger collection than Terre Haute's size might suggest. Its focus is mainly 20th-century American art, with Hoosier artists well represented and temporary exhibitions adding variety.
It is easy to pair with the Debs House and a walk along Wabash Avenue. Admission has traditionally been free, making it a low-risk stop even if you only have an hour.
