Southwestern College

Small Methodist liberal arts college on the north side of town

Southwestern, founded in 1885 by Kansas Methodists, is a small liberal arts college of around 1,500 students on a green campus on the north edge of Winfield. The Mossman Administration Building, the campus's anchor, is a 1888 limestone landmark visible from blocks away.

The Richardson Performing Arts Center on campus hosts concerts and theatre throughout the school year and is one of the cultural anchors of the town. The arboretum walk along College Street and the Stewart Field House add a half-hour of pleasant ambling if you happen to be in the area.
