Chauvin Sculpture Garden

Visionary folk-art garden of more than 100 concrete figures along Bayou Petit Caillou.

The Chauvin Sculpture Garden is the oddest and most memorable sight around Houma. Artist Kenny Hill filled a bayou-side plot with more than 100 concrete figures: angels, cowboys, biblical scenes, soldiers, animals, and a tall central tower crowded with symbolic detail.

It sits in Chauvin, south of Houma along Bayou Petit Caillou, so it takes a little effort to reach. That effort is part of the point: the garden feels rooted in the rural bayou landscape rather than packaged as an attraction.
