Bank Street Beach

Bank Street Beach sits right at the edge of Harwich Port village, a short walk from the main street. The beach faces Nantucket Sound, so the water is calmer and noticeably warmer than on the Cape's north shore — good for swimming, particularly with children. The sand is soft and the beach fills up on summer afternoons but never reaches the crowds of the big resort beaches at Hyannis.

The beach runs between the entrance channel to Wychmere Harbor and Doane's Creek, with views across the sound toward Nantucket on clear days. Restrooms are available in summer. Parking requires a resident or visitor sticker during peak season, as is standard across most Cape Cod beaches.
