The Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds on the western edge of the village host the annual youth fair every August — the largest youth fair in the United States, with around 250,000 visitors over a single week. Outside the fair the grounds are mostly empty, but the Expo Arena, a 2,896-seat indoor venue, hosts concerts, monster truck shows, and tractor pulls year round.
For most of the year the site is a quiet field, but if you happen to be in southwestern Michigan in early August, the fair is a real slice of rural Americana — 4-H livestock judging, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and a midway.
