Pioneer Memorial Church stands at the heart of the Andrews University campus and is the largest Seventh-day Adventist congregation in North America. The current building, dedicated in 1959, seats around 3,000 and is designed in a clean mid-century style, with a slender white spire that is visible from much of the campus.
Services are open to visitors on Saturday — the Adventist sabbath — and the music programme, anchored by the university's choirs and a large pipe organ, is genuinely good. The church also serves as the site for major denominational events and graduations.
