Windmill Island Gardens is Holland's clearest symbol. Its centerpiece is De Zwaan, a working windmill more than two centuries old that was dismantled in the Netherlands and rebuilt beside the Macatawa River.
The island also has gardens, an antique carousel, and Dutch-themed displays. It is at its best during tulip season, but the windmill gives it a reason to visit beyond the flowers.
