The Northfield Historical Society is the essential stop in town. It preserves the old First National Bank site where the James-Younger Gang tried to rob the bank in 1876 and were met by armed townspeople instead.
The story could easily become roadside myth, but the museum keeps it grounded: bullet holes, local accounts, and the sense of a small town that still knows exactly what happened on Division Street.
