The Pipestone County Courthouse is the strongest civic building in town, a Beaux-Arts courthouse made from the same quartzite that gives Pipestone its architectural identity. Its clock tower and heavy stonework make it worth a detour while walking between Main Street and the museum.
You do not need a long visit here. Stand back far enough to see how the building sits in the prairie town grid, then look at the rusticated stonework up close. It is a good example of how even functional county-seat architecture can feel rooted in a very specific landscape.
