The Palmer House Hotel stands at the heart of Sauk Centre's old commercial district. Built in 1901 and expanded in 1916, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and still operates as a hotel, restaurant, and pub. Even if you do not stay, it is the best single building for getting the feel of the town Lewis knew.
